Still have mine. Maybe I'll switch to blu-ray when someone does a fan edit of STM and re-colors it to it's original proper color. S2 is already taken care of because Boosh is re-colorizing his fan edit the way it should be. From what I've heard, the theatrical S2 bluray and the DC blu-ray color is different anyhow.
After that? Well, hopefully by then I'll have gotten better software for my computer. Then I'll buy S3 and S4 on blu-ray (by then they should be released as singles, not just the set), and I'll re-do the "Superman Redeemed" fan edit with the blu-rays. Then I'll have the perfect HD Superman-Reeve trilogy.

How about, 'The Superman Teal Ray Collection'? Works for me. Another thing to add. If Hollywood feels that color movies should be re-colorized for blu-ray, how come all the old black and white movies weren't permanently made into color (meaning you can't buy the original b&w versions anymore)? Double standard. Ted Turner would like a word with you ...

I'm with you guys, the old DVD menu was spot on, still got my copy at home with my VHS versions.
I've been recolouring Superman III. I've been tinkering with 2 and 4 also, but 3 has come together the quickest. I've got a few things to fix that have inadvertently turned from green to blue, due to the fixes I've applied to the colours in the suit.
I'll start a thread later with some caps for those who fancy a look at the changes I've made.

Agreed. It couldn't have been cheap to put together- but it's odd how they went from that menu to the DIRT cheap still menus of still images.
Oh well. Still, if it means they'd allocate funds from an animated menu to other kinds of extras, though, I'm all for it. *
(*Excepting 'second screen' stuff that Disney is doing for a chunk of its bonus features. Is anyone here enjoying the 'second screen' invention? Personally, if I'm buying a mega-disc dvd, I want to OWN all the stuff, not have to stream bonuses)

I'm curious what kind of process you're doing, Booshman- I assumed at first you were color correcting once for a whole image, then applying it to the whole film, but it sounds like what you're doing is a LOT more work, applying colors to sections of a picture? Wow.

Wow. I've done a general CC for the entire movie, then gone back and tweaked it in individual scenes. The recolouring of the suit has meant that certain parts of the picture have been affected. Some have just meant going back and altering the values. Others have required masking out specific areas. The main issue has been when Supes and one of these objects have been on screen at the same time, but that was minimal. The areas affected have mainly been: Any computers with green text on them. The circuit boards on the super computer. The kryptonite ray produces by the computer. The green man in the traffic light fight. I'm not looking forward to trying to sort out the fortress scene in Superman IV, which has turned a nice shade of blue now that I've de-tealed the suit. I've got a video rendering with some footage from 3, it should be online sometime tomorrow.

Hopefully this already means that the single releases are right around the corner.

Just came across this Superman II Theatrical laserdisc and blu-ray comparison clip: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tctD3gLesmo (Best viewed at 1080p and fullscreen) It really highlights the colour timing and contrast screw-ups on the SII blu.

Funny that this has been brought up again today since I saw my first new movie on video in ages (Looper) and I've decided that I need to make peace with this blue-orange color scheme. So my new outlook is this...
I'll buy a blu-ray player and buy ONLY new movies on blu-ray and just deal with this new color scheme that all movies have now. Everything else that came before blu, will keep it's colors true lol.

Fucking amateur hack job on colour as far as I'm concerned. Anyone can turn up the yellow or red on a software program. So much for remastering.
