Awesome stuff, Mav. I'm so glad Routh was out there circulating with fans, receiving some accolades in person. We differ in our opinion on Superman Returns, but I had zero problems with Routh's performance. Or Huntington's, for that matter. Hopefully the love from the fans will ease the hurt over not getting another shot at Superman on the big screen.
And yeah, I looked at the website for the Super Museum the other day. Incredibly impressive collection. I don't know how they scored so many artifacts from the productions, but they definitely did a great job. Lots of important props and costumes there.

WOW. Like everyone has said, thanks SO MUCH for all the detail in the report & photos- you weren't long-winded at all, I ate up the whole experience. (Should send this report to Jim Bowers and Gandalf as well, if they're not already aware of it!) Slightly teared up as well that you were able to share with Brandon & Sam the appreciation for Superman Returns--- Like ShinyMarble3000 said, hopefully the love of the fans ease the HORRIBLE treatment that they got from both WB and factions of the internet over their work. And reading that your words really struck them, was really moving & bittersweet. On one hand, it opened up old wounds over feeling like the filmmakers and cast got dumped on/get dumped on for trying to make something really worthwhile from the heart in SR, only to not have a chance for a sequel whatsoever- On the other hand, letting these guys know that their work wasn't only appreciated, but will be treasured over time - was awesome to read. If you didn't say it at that convention, it didn't sound like it was going to be said. Bravo, too, for being so articulate in sending the message. I've been at conventions, feeling like I wouldn't fumble asking this or that question of an artist whose work I'd admired- only to find my voice disappearing or knees turning to jelly. So......yeah, your actions there I'm SURE was the highlight of the entire trip for them. Thank god someone was able to tell these guys properly what good work they did in SR in person, and before a crowd, with all the irritating undeserved bashing they get on the net. BRAVO, Mav! Great work, man! Great work!!!

Mav...that was all kinds of awesome! Although I am certainly not a Superman Returns lover (my reasons have nothing to do with Routh), I thought it was really cool to see his reaction to your obvious heart-felt comments and it was really cool to see him treat you so warmly.
Congrats and thanks for sharing!

Just... just . EDIT: No, not just that. MAV, with your permission, can I share one of those Routh pictures (with the 'I liked film before it was digital' shirt) on Facebook? I know a few people who'd get a kick out of that.

I wish I could go there, maybe someday... Mav, I am thrilled you gave us excellent pictures of all the stuff there, and I agree it is quite emotional seeing Clark's clothes from SIV that Reeve wore. I feel emotional just seeing them from an image, so I can't imagine what it must feel like to be right there with them. Kinda like one of the last things Reeve wore in a Superman movie.. It's always nice to hear how approachable and nice Brandon is to his fans. Some actors are assholes once they get their taste of fame, but Brandon has always kept very humble throughout. It is sad that he never really got chance to do more with the role like Reeve, and that so many things were out of his control in SR. I really wish he had another shot, be it a JLA movie or anything, he is like the perfect guy to take on the responsibility of such a strong character. I can only hope the same is carried on with Henry Cavill. Nice guys need to be Supes, not assholes. I dread to think of all the other names that were thrown around in the past... That guy's Evil Superman costume was coool. You did tell him though that there is only one Evil Superman, right?!

Its been a long time since I been here. Was not sure if my password would still work...
I can not express enough how much I enjoyed your report MAV!
I went to the Celebration almost every year through out the 90s. But life changes and lack of interest in the guests ( I am not a Smallville fan at all!) have made it hard to justify a return yet.
But this was a year I would have gone if I could have. But before Brandon's appearance was announced I had planned a trip to Vegas.
I want to thank you for your great comments to Brandon. Its exactly what I would have wanted to say!

Theoretically (I'm not certain, but) I think an SR fan who witnessed this might grab that kryptonite shard from that museum, jab ATP in the back, then hurl him off a nearby cliff into the deep waters.

Seriously, I really enjoy your detailed posts on events. It's so on point that I feel like I'm experiencing it with you. Excellent stuff.
You should've invited Brandon to join the board. It would've been interesting to see everyone's reaction. ;D ;D

We'd have to temporarily add in a word filter. "Crap" gets changed into "awesome."

;D And then fall to the ground, of course, creating a crater in the earth. Consequently, thousands will wonder what happened to him when he disappeared from the hospital. But he will appear to Gazer and tell her that he'll always be....around.

Mav, I must say, I read your post the night you put it up, on my iphone. Couldn't really look at the pictures at the time, but reading the details and everything that you wrote, made me feel like I was there experiencing it too.
That post was Awesome on EPIC Proportions. Then when I got to see the pics, I read the post again and looked at everything, from the little girl that couldn't crack a smile cause she was so in shock at meeting Superman, to meeting Routh and the things that were said, touched my heart, and brought a tear to my eye.
Absolutely awesome, Mav. Hopefully I can get there next year, and hopefully Brandon will be there too, I'd love to meet him.
Since we are always saying you should be Zod, you should have had a pic of Brandon kneeling before you ;D

Hey, ATP. Why don't you say to Brandon's face that SR was CRAP? ;D Wouldn't surprise me if Routh thought the same thing. Plus we're all intelligent enough to realise SR's faults had FA to do with Routh and he knows this.
