I'm not even sure where to put this. But here is Margot's niece. She looks so like her. I was reading the interview with yon lad that's gonna play Emile Hamilton in MOS and he mentioned her so I just google her. When Thau was doing the Donner Cut he should have got her in to complete the bullet scene. I'm sure with a little bit of trick photography it could have worked. Edit: Photo is way too large to display so linking it instead. img.filmous.com/static/people/91327/photo.jpg

She definitely has her aunt's eyes but, I think she actually more like Sarah Douglass. Or maybe if the 2 of them combined into one person lol. I agree they should've got her for some additional/supplemental shots for TDC. I don't think we'd have noticed. And ya know, I'd be more willing to go with it if I knew she was a blood relative playing the part lol.
Then again, doesn't Chris Reeve's sons look a lot like him as well? Although I''m guessing they're not into acting.

Here's Lex and Teschmacher in the fortress. It's very rough so you'll have to use your imagination a bit. vimeo.com/35134476

I think the part where Lex says "Think abut it, three supervillains..." is better in the Lester version. More serious tone.

Very nice job here Boosh. here's my thoughts: Any chance for deleted scene before they approach fortress? I understand it's just filler, but I feel we should have Lex at least say it's Supes' home before Eve tries to correct him. Even if it's just the Hackman double saying it from the theatrical version. I personally don't like Krypton elder since no other people knew what Jor-el was doing. Unless these are pre-recorded tapes from Kryptons' education systems that ALL young Kryptonians watch in school. In which case my imagination can run with it Any chance to use the shot of Eve walking away? I know the bathroom joke is deleted but it may come in handy for other shots when we're viewing the villains from inside the crystal. One little nitpick is I actually don't like Eve's "kinda cute" line in reference to Zod. Only because he's the main villain and I just don't like hearing him spoken about in that tone. Eh, nitpicking. Oh, and don't forget to give the DC audio the proper "echo" effect for their voices like the theatrical does hehe. I take it the other deleted scene is being removed because of the line "even when you lose, you win" since the scene was shot BEFORE the time-travel ending was used, and would thus cause confusion? Or do you feel it's just more padding on the runtime (or both)? I know I'm probably the only one who sticks up for Otis and Eve but I hate to lose her talk about marriage even if it's incidental to the plot. I guess I just love the line "I'll push you into something Ms. Teschmaker" lol.

Hey Booshman, I don't know if this has been covered earlier in the thread, but could you give a rundown of the software you are using? Ripping, editing, sound mixing, visual effects? Thanks.

I understand it's just filler, but I feel we should have Lex at least say it's Supes' home before Eve tries to correct him. Even if it's just the Hackman double saying it from the theatrical version.. I won't be using the deleted scene, but I've added the theatrical version of the double saying it's his home back in. I personally don't like Krypton elder since no other people knew what Jor-el was doing. Unless these are pre-recorded tapes from Krypton's' education systems that ALL young Kryptonians watch in school. In which case my imagination can run with it . I posted this on FE.org, but I'll re-post it here as it applies: I want the elder for two reasons. Firstly to set up the use of the crystal viewing device, which is used throughout the scene and will be used later by Superman. (new home movies scene) Secondly, because I prefer the bald elder to Brando reading the poem. It makes sense to me that when loading the ship with crystals filled with the knowledge of the 28 known galaxies, Jor-El would be copying data from different sources, the "Kryptonian Memory Bank, education crystal 308" being one of them. Also when I listen to Brando I always get reminded of the deleted part of the reading where he gets everyone cracking up by changing the words to the poem. In STM there is a deleted line about Jor-El anticipating the questions Kal-El will ask, in their order of importance to him, which makes it sound more like he made a recording based on probability than being truly interactive. The way I see it though is that the discussion he is having with Lex about the villains, he would have already had with his son, so it's just a recording of a discussion with the spirit of Jor-El that has already taken place in the fortress. Any chance to use the shot of Eve walking away? I know the bathroom joke is deleted but it may come in handy for other shots when we're viewing the villains from inside the crystal. One little nitpick is I actually don't like Eve's "kinda cute" line in reference to Zod. Only because he's the main villain and I just don't like hearing him spoken about in that tone. Eh, nitpicking.. I've added in a reaction shot of Lex when they are shown Ursa, taken from where he says, "I asked the right question". So Ursa is shown, then Lex smiles at MT, she smiles back but as as he turns away her expression changes to an unhappy one. This way when Zod is shown she is getting her own back on Lex by saying he looks cute. "echo" effect for their voices like the theatrical does hehe.. It's going to be a proper pain to do it right. Listening to the surround channels alone for the Lester version there's a lot more going on than you would think. Replicating it for the Donner stuff won't be easy or quick but I really want to keep continuity between the two versions, and the Donner stuff just sounds flat in comparison. I'm mainly not using them because of their inconsistent quality and because they don't really add anything. Unlike the Arctic Police scene which I think is worth the effort to try and get it restored as much as possible. Hey Booshman, I don't know if this has been covered earlier in the thread, but could you give a rundown of the software you are using? Ripping, editing, sound mixing, visual effects? Thanks. Thank you for putting the Lex line back in. I suppose the deleted scenes really don't add much after all, I just like seeing Lex and Eve banter lol. Oh and I can see where you're coming from with the Brando outtake. That was funny lol. The deleted scene with Jor-el anticipating his son's questions, I agree completely. That was definitely a scene from the KCOP where I kinda went "Eh" about. The recordings of their own discussions, ok I guess that idea works for me. After all, recording will be one color and Jor's spirit will be another. Oh, and VERY GLAD to see you're gonna give the Arctic Patrol scene a whirl. For me this will always be the definitive end to the villains' story even if we can hardly see them. It would've been interesting to see the villains coping without their powers though. I guess Donner planned to go back to shooting with them later AFTER Gene was done with his scenes. So yeah, even if the quality isn't PERFECT blu-ray quality, I don't care. Supes and Lois are not murderers. I don't care what anyone tells me. Just don't forget to remove "Smallville Strongboy"

Sebastian who is a member here worked out a scenario that Superman returns criminals to the phantom zone. The only thing I don't like about the artic police, is why would there be any such thing. They patrol out in the middle of nowhere, what do they do break up domestic disputes between polar bears?

Good point. Maybe that was the premise of the alternative spinoff movie series.

Any updates on the SII edit? Nothing major to report. I've completed some more sound and score replacement in 5.1, but only on scenes that have already been shown. I haven't done any video editing for a few weeks. I've been working at a new place and also been finishing up some other projects. DVD menus/ covers and the like. Once I get those sorted I'll be back onto Superman II.

Will there be any armpit sweat removal? ;D
I did that, frame by frame in Photoshop. There's also a sweat stain near the bottom of the \S/. I went with the Lester version because that is no time to be using a wide-angle shot.

When Superman returns to the Daily Planet are you going to use "General would you care to step outside" line?

Anhy other little corrections that might be worth a look let me know and I'll see if I want to include them. When Superman returns to the Daily Planet are you going to use "General would you care to step outside" line? Without a doubt!

I do find myself a little suprised that the removal of the sweat stain hasn't been controversial or the equivalent of "Greedo shoots First" fight with Lucas' special edition.... But then again, maybe nobody likes armpit sweat. Nobody.

Well, going completely against my plan of action, I decided to do some effects work today. It's not final version, but it's an improvement over the first rough draft. I need to perfect the movement and add in the crystal viewer for continuity, but it's getting there. Here's the rough version (about 3:30 in): vimeo.com/35134476Here's what I did in order to be able to create the new shot. And the new shot: vimeo.com/37800966

The Bouncing Colorful Jor-el head sequence is easily one of the best/worst examples of Thau's horrible editing decisions. ALL it had to do was look like the original STM, and I would have been happy. Unless changing alternate takes was (presumably) forced by takes that deteriorated over time..... it's mind boggling how something that should have been fairly simple to update, is one of the most unappealing scenes to look at now, due to mishandling/bad edit choices.
