I for one am glad that Bale is not returning as Batman. I like BB, TDK was awesome the best in the series and TDKR was good.. it was a bit of mess to me, so much going on. I liked Bales Bruce, and his Batman was good, but I got tired of hearing him after a while. I still hate the voice, and I'm so over the football/hockey pad costume. When the time comes and a JL movie does come out, I hope they have someone good to direct it, maybe get someone like Whendon thats good with the ensemble cast but can capture that big screen magic like 80's Speilberg. As for the writers, why dont they just do a collaboration from a few of the comic writers, instead of just one? WB really needs to take their time and get this right. If they screw up JL, they will NEVER recover from this, and the DC fans will never forgive them. Agreed. Loved Bale in the role but his time is done. By the end those films wouldn't really mesh with a DCU. You need a batman that can hold his own with over superheroes and Bales is too low key in so many ways. These people should be contemporaries. In their primes. Not half crippled middle aged a batman and a confused rookie Superman. They should be able to stand up to one another when they butt heads and have if be believable. Yknow, Bale's Bat and Cavill's rookie Supes could actually make some good character moments.

Maybe but (this only goes for me) I've been dying my whole life to see equals their primes collide. Especially if they play it right. But I can laugh imagining Bales bat shaking his head at Cavill Supes fuck ups like flying through a building and pulverizing the kids Batman just saved

So when do we find out if they're going to do individual movies or just go for it with a JL flick?
This all terrifies me. The Marvel stuff rules because I have nothing vested. I was only a passing Marvel fan growing up, so these movies come out as pure entertainment for me. I don't feel protective over them. I don't care about them being lame or anything (because they have no reason to be doubted at this point, really, but even before).
But DC stuff...I kinda need this to go well or I'll be very upset. This is the potential stuff dreams are made of. A Justice League movie. My God. It's going to happen.

I don't know if JL is ever going to happen.
I know MoS made more money than movies like BB, SR, etc., but it seems to me WB was banking on this movie to do TDK and TDKR numbers, and it's not going to make it. But it's not like it's a flop. Far from it. But, it's like having a hidden minimum on your eBay auction. Sure, you could make some money but are you going to get what you really wanted?
It's only the third weekend of release, but what kind of legs is this thing going to have? It was in the tough spot of coming out only a week before a Disney/Pixar flick. Those make money whether they're good or not. Now there's another kiddie animated flick (the one with the yellow things and the bald guy, I don't watch this shit), and Lone Ranger. I say it stays in the top 10 another two weeks.
In other words, I think WB is scrambling for pitches on how to re-boot the Bat. Because, when in doubt, re-boot the Bat is all they know.

Well MOS has done more than well enough to at least get a MOS 2. If MOS did monster business we might be seeing a lot more movement on JL and a MOS 2. As for any other non superman non batman solo movies? I don't know. But Green Lantern can't be helping that. I think we will see JL one day but as far as how they do it I really don't give a shit. For a lot of reasons it's off my radar. It could be years off and there's a good chance of suck. Did you guys read that story of the WB marketing plants at a comic book store? If true I have to shake my head. But I guess if I had to say...Marvels way would be best. Build of MOS. It just makes sense.
I think I just heard Colbert say Justice League on tv while talking about Superman. LOL. Colbert said something pretty funny about the red trunks.

I just hope it's a Justice League that bears ENOUGH resemblance to how the characters look in the comics, and not pull a 'Smallville'. I'm going to freak if we have to see a Justice League that wears all black leather jackets and trenchcoats.

This movie should be AMAZING. It shouldn't hold back but embrace the greatness of this group. If they fuck this one up its fucked forever. I'm not sure you get a second chance on a Justice League movie in the near future.

Adding on about costumes that are 'close enough' in doing live-action.....
A pet peeve is hearing filmmakers go on about changing superhero costumes because they'd just 'look terrible in real life'---
Now, at times, I'll see what they come up with and agree that a costume they come up with is, indeed, even better than the comics- so it's not totally without merit.... but more times than not--- the changes to the costume just don't seem all that great, nor all that much more realistic. (Looking at you, Smallville Legion costume designer...)
Case in point: going to conventions and seeing -once in awhile- a cosplayer who looks FANTASTIC in a costume that's tailored straight from the comics, without deviation. It gives chills when it's done right, but many times I just wonder if Hollywood lacks the imagination or just isn't trying hard enough at times to try to replicate the same look as in the comics---
Now-- OF COURSE- if the spirit of the character and story is true- the costume doesn't matter NEARLY as much....but it's definitely a cool perk that adds juice to fans, I think, when they do see the costumes 'as are' brought to life.... here's hoping that's the case with JLA. We don't (I don't think) need an 'Arrow' version of the JLA onscreen.....

It's the ego of the filmmakers, production designers, and costumers to put their spin on a design, especially if there's nothing wrong with the design.
Before I die, I want to see a non-black-rubber-wearing, live-action Batman.

I just want to see how they will get Batman - essentially a depressed man in a costume with toys - battle alongside the others. I just keep thinking of those hilarious youTube collegeHumour videos. Its also a pity Bale has walked away. I'd love to see him talking to Superman in that retarded voice

Zod was already using the retarded Batman voice in MoS.

Yeah but to have Batman talk to someone far superior in that "menacing" voice would have been hilarious. I'd pay to see it.

The best is when he talks to someone as Batman who knows he is Bruce. Like Fox.

I always thought it was kinda funny how he kept the ridiculous voice talking to people who knew he was Batman.

Before I die, I want to see a non-black-rubber-wearing, live-action Batman. Ditto. Time to get away from the molded rubber armor look. It's so dated and predictable. But since even Superman has a rubbery looking molded costume now who knows. That's why I'm so happy Marvel got away from that. The costumes are padded but at least they don't look like walking dildos. Captain America looks like he can actually fucking bend down to lace his boots. Even the non Disney/Marvel studios stuff tried something different years before WB did. The Daredevil and FF movie costumes looked pretty good and fit what they had to do.

They could get a lot closer with some of the Xmen movie costumes it they just used some imagination. People are already prepared to take a leap from reality because these concepts are already absurd.

Cap works because the suit looks like it's the cotton/canvas material my brother's Army fatigues are made of, just Cap's is form fitting. I'm sure the in-universe backstory is that it's some kind of advanced infantry Kevlar hinkeymaboo. And, I really forgave Nolan for a black rubber Batsuit once he changed it to be armor plates. At least that makes sense and is a little more real. Ever held a soldier's armor plating? My brother has some from his Afghanistan deployment. Shit is cool but heavy as heck.

The Nolan suits armor sacrifices speed and mobility for protection. Even TDK armor does. The captain America suit would be a good middle ground. Parts of it could be a kind of space age or militery r and d type fabric that offers protection but is also flexible. That's essentially what Captain America's costumes do. Not totally super realistic but enough to be believable on film.
Verisimilitude is the key here. They just need to make it somewhat credible or believable within the fictional world like Caps uniform or iron mans armor. We don't have anything that can do what Starks suits can do but they don't seem so outlandish that we can't accept the premise.
