Unlike what I did with SR, I will try to avoid seeing interviews with Cavill or anything pre-production. Those Singer webcasts gave too much of SR away for me when I first saw it IMO, took me out the movie
Best to go in as fresh as possible IMO.
But yeah, like it or lump it, Cavill IS Superman

they do have amazing chemistry.
wouldn't it be cool if they became a two-man troupe?
like jerry lewis and dean martin, or bing crosby and bob hope, or jack lemmon and walter mathau..?
just doing movies together from time to time. that'd be cool. these guys are just....swell.

Wow! I was there all three days, but thought that he wasn't planning on showing up--- (even though there were giant banners for the film, only the costars were listed as appearing) never realized he was there.

Seems like he decided to go at the last minute (or maybe it was part of the plan, who knows), I reported on it here (page 33) as soon as I knew he was going. I thought you would probably go to the Con since you've mention before that you like going. I really wanted you to meet him.

I really like Routh and want him to do well now that he is no longer Superman, but the trailers for this don't seem very original. Kind of a cross between Zombieland and Van Helsing. More of a rental than a theater going experience. I might change my mind, though, if it gets a lot of good reviews.

I'll probably go to the theatres just to support Routh- but, otherwise- I agree with what you're saying here.
I give Routh's agent credit for his guest stint on "Chuck" and for his appearance in "Scott Pilgrim". Both were gold, but to be honest, after the momentum (seemingly) got pulled after waiting and waiting for MOS, I can't imagine the agent's job as being that easy.
Reeve seemed VERY career-oriented and ambitious from the second he got hired on as Supes (and even before)... but he also had the added benefit of Superman II to continue to give him some continued public awareness a couple of years later.
Should Routh try to do a television series? Movies? (At this stage of cable tv and movies, one isn't necessarily better than the other, aside from the scale movies can offer). Stupid WB for not recasting him, imo. *sigh*

Well what's done it's done and there is nothing I can do to change it, but I love Brandon so I'll support his movie. That I can do something about. Besides, the movie looks really fun and interesting to me, and I've heard that he is really good in it.

Brandon looks a lot better now that he's 5 years older. To be fair to him, he really does look a lot like Superman now. He also looks remarkably like a young Gregory Peck.

Dead of Night is sitting at just under a 10% positive rating on the rottentomatoes site: www.rottentomatoes.com/m/dead-of-night-2009/I knew things looked bad when the studio refused to have early press screenings of the film. That's always a sign that the studio doesn't have faith the film will get positive reviews. Poor Routh. I'd be surprised if he gets another lead starring role in a theatrical movie any time soon.

Yeah, looks like it's a.......dog. And I guess there is always TV for Routh.

It's not even playing in town, and generally we have EVERYTHING show here.
One critic put into words what came to mind when I saw the trailer: it looked like an episode of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" in tone. The thing is, even though I've enjoyed the "Buffy" (and "Angel") tv series, just having an episode expanded to the bigscreen wouldn't seem like enough of a reason to run to the movie theatres. If it's like a 'lesser' episode as the critic was saying, it'd be even less so.
The only reason I wanted to see the film was for Routh, I might still, if it comes into town. But, again, here's hoping that Routh is able to get the role that is a good fit for the long run (tv or movies) seeing as WB sadly didn't get him back as Supes..... *sigh*

Routh looks bored as heck in the role.
I knew it'd bomb the moment I saw the trailer. No one's gonna see it. Even if it was marketed well.

Ouch, that's a shame. He was great in Scott Pilgrim. I hope he gets more and better work.

The movie came in at #16! Wow, EPIC FAIL! Poor Routh. It only made $885,000.
