We COULD be due for a major announcement from WB/DC any moment now at San Diego Comic-Con! According to both LA Times Hero Complex and The Hollywood Reporter Warners are expected to announce plans for... ...a Superman/Batman film in 2015... ...a Flash film in 2016....and... ...a Justice League film in 2017! Warner Bros is expected to announce at its Hall H panel that Zack Snyder will direct the film as a follow-up to Man of Steel. Henry Cavill is due to return as Superman but a new actor will fill the Bat-boots (Christian Bale has indicated publicly that he has moved on from Batman)! David Goyer will write the script. - See more at: www.batman-online.com/news/2013/7/20/a-supermanbatman-movie-for-2015-flash-justice-league-too#sthash.y0srQX3W.dpuf

I read that earlier on. I'm not overly keen on the idea.
But i'll take it as long as it's not as joyless and boring as ATP's jokes.

I think we need one more Superman film before this but it's still a much better idea than jumping into the Justice League straight away.

I'd much rather have had another solo Superman film. I think a worlds finest type film would be really tough to pull off.

I agree, Kris. Sounds like they want a JL soon but at least they aren't jumping right to it. It'll be interesting if they do JL AND BvsS. Id love to see both if they are good but I don't think they need to do both. Slot could be for something else. Guess they want more guaranteed money and they'll use Supes to introduce the new Batman. Guess they see WW as too big of a risk. They don't have the balls of the competition. Maybe they'll use JL to introduce her.
They seriously need a new writer. Goyer couldn't even get the fucking Nightstalkers right. If they announced a new writer they'd have a chance. Snyder Batman? Ugh.

I mean...awesome! But also yikes! It's too goddamn soon! Not only for the team up itself but for another Batman to come around. They shoulda waited until the JL movie. I want a Superman sequel, not a World's Finest, but it ain't about me. And I'm still excited as FUCK, of course. I mean, damn. They have a plan. Good to know.

Like you say- at least its a plan. A worlds finest roughly a decade after "asylum" got pulled. Oddly enough- asylum could follow TDKR beautifully.

So that's official? Or is it fan made? Makes me think of Beware The Batman. I should be bounce off the walls excited about this but...it's the emotional equivalent of taking a long dull dry shit for me. If they had faith they'd let Superman fly in a solo sequel to get it done better and maybe have a batman cameo. Just seems like they're doing everything they can not for the best story but for the most money. And it's even the same fuckers on one of the creative teams. How original.

Jesus Christ, enough Goyer already. Get some new blood into these movies. He's isn't the end all be all.

I'm a bit bummed that Goyer and Snyder are co writing it to be honest.
I'd much rather have another stand alone Superman film.
But I was thinking the other day, for all the credit Marvel get, I'm really not a fan of most of the films they've put out!

The new film brings back Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder as producers. This time, Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas are serving as executive producers, along with Benjamin Melniker and Michael E. Uslan.

It would be hilarious if plans for BvsS just collapsed during pre production. I doubt that'll happen though. Them announcing it at comic com makes me wonder how far along in the process they are. Do they have a script? They went with Snyder in the first place because he can work fast compared to other directors. He already has a relationship with WB. THe Nolans names are attached just to give it prestige.
It's obvious that money is the primary motivating factor here more than normal. They want to reintroduce a new Batman for Justice League and this is the fastest safest way to do it. MOS series is already reestablished. It would take more time to mount a full solo Batman production. No way they could do it in 2 years. This will generate more hype than a solo Batman reboot ever could. They even invoked Dark Knight Returns because they know they will get people talking. I doubt it'll be a major influence or direct adaptation but just the mention of it puts images in geeks heads. It's something their imaginations can immediately grab on to.
And between BvsS and JL they have two movies that can easily make a billion. A Batman and Superman movie could be AWFUL and still make a shitload of money. This all seems creatively lazy but financially brilliant.

Ofcourse it's all about money, it's Hollywood!!
Snyder I think said they've already been working on the script so it's obviously been planned for a while and it would make even more sense now as to why he had the Wayne Enterprises logo in MOS.
I'm slightly worried about this one for a few reasons, but more because getting it to work will be very tricky and I don't like the idea of Goyer writing it on his own.
They haven't even been clear on exactly what it is, i just listened to the audio of the announcement (brilliant due to the fans going crazy) and first Snyder said "we're officially making another Superman film", so people already speculating it's a MOS sequel and Batman will be introduced at the end, others thinking it'll be a straight up 'Worlds finest'.
Either way I hope to heck Superman and Batman don't face off at any point, for any kind of realism or for it to be taken seriously anything other than Batman getting whooped would be silly.

Yeah it's obviously about money. I know that. What I mean is I think potentially huge grosses are blinding WB to the fact that this might be a little rushed or poorly thought out. It just doesn't quite feel right to me. Not yet anyway. They should be improving Superman for his next movie. Not throwing a new batman in there ASAP. Why couldn't it wait? Interesting that this particular idea of a film comes out the same summer as Avengers 2.

It doesn't feel right to me either. I mean one Superman film where he only really becomes the traditional Superman we all know in the last few moments of the film. Then we launch in a new Batman who hasn't even had his own film.
The whole thing's just weird.

Fuck sake! Surely man of steel needs a sequel before a team up.i mean serious guys man of steel 2 needs to spend more time introducing the characters as there was zero time for them in man of steel 1. Waner bros really haven't a clue.they obviously want there version of the avengers ,but they need to be a little more patient.but something tells me that they will rush it and it will go tits up!

Not feeling this one at all. There's no connection with these films like how Nick Fury/SHIELD brought the movies together. Competition with Marvel is going to kill this.
