Pics like that evoke a great response from long time fans because it's icon vs icon. Remember we were talking about Kirk and Picard meeting in generations the other day? Same thing. Those two characters had built up all those adventures and all that history and fans were bringing all those experiences into the movie. Generations wasn't an amazing movie but theremwws still something special about that moment. That's one place BVS failed. They depended too much on the characters names instead of building up these new versions of the character first. There was no connection or investment in Batfleck when the movie started. Marvel understood youve got to establish who the characters are first before the audience CBS start thinking about how they'll interact. We knew how Thor was and we knew how Stark was so we were waiting for a few things to happen. I grew up loving Reeves Superman and West Batman seperatly so my mind can't help but wonder what would happen? What would happen if those two came face to face based on knowing so much about each? It's a lot of fun. I loved the characters.... but I think the idea that you couldn't record the tv shows made enduring the long talky stuff easier. In rewatching the stuff being an adult.... harder to sit thru. Still- the idea of an epic with both of them in it as those characters does excite. If only WB thought to do Batman vs. Superman during the Keaton time.... would have been interesting. It is very cool that we get to have the excitement of stuff like the Avengers- but, now, the problem (imo) is Marvel getting a little too greedy in wanting to sacrifice part of a story to get somebody to see a sequel. The bit with Bucky staying in Wakanda is ok.... but I agree with someone who felt the Stark device to wipe out trauma in the beginning was going to be what was used at the end to cure Bucky, originally.

I thought Starks technology was something able to project or recreate memories in holographic form. I guess it could be used to fix the mind somehow or maybe it was being developed that way but I didn't really get that. I dunno. Guess that'll be clarified for me when I watch the movie again. Bucky's problem is he's been programmed so to speak. He's highly succeptable to mental manipulation and control through triggers.
I do agree that part of Marvels problem on some films is being too concerned with setting up sequels and figure films in a way that hurts the story. It really did hurt Age of Ultron but I think Civil War was well balanced.
I liked the talking parts of the batman and superman shows as a kid. I appreciate them more as an adult. It really just depended on if those talking parts were entertaining or not. If Bruce Wayne was cool or Clark Kent was witty or interesting. West and Reeves both had charisma and good comic timing so they were rarely ever dull to me. I think as a kid I could also watch them because it was thrilling to me to see these characters Id read about come to life.

Batman vs Batman trailer.
Gotta say as far of there as the concept is I wouldn't mind seeing WB make this. It would need a different title but it's a fresh idea that I think would grab people's attention. It'll never happen and maybe it's best left to the realm of comic books but then again they're doing movies now that people said would never happen because no one would buy the concepts.

It's missing the Adam West version. Someone did do a trailer with all the supermen. I'd like to see one with west sort of like that stop motion parody. Now they need to do a sequel with Affleck. Off topic a bit but this fan art is a best case scenario of what a lot of people wanted the DCEU to look like after MOS and Arrow hit screens.

Supergirl season 2 preview with John Williams music. Wow! That's pretty amazing- great music editing. On its own, though, having a REALLY tough time with Tyler H as Supes/Clark. And the part where the cape attaches is weird.

The suit really needs some work. The belt as an idea is a good one but it looks too bulky and cumbersome. It doesn't flow with the the rest of the suits design well enough. The boots need streamlining. The cape attachments are indeed a big fail.
I'm mixed on Hoechlin. From some angles he looks the part. Other times he looked like the b@stard butt child of Zod and Bizarro. I like his Clark Kent performance but his Superman falls flat in what we've seen so far. Just reinforces the idea that Clark is where the actors really get to play and do some interesting things while Superman is harder to make stand out since they have less creative freedom.

Again.... wasted opportunity in NOT getting Routh for this. If Supergirl is a separate universe than "Legends of Tomorrow", I would rather that they just kill his character off in LEgends and have put him back as Superman here. But, oh well.... here's hoping the Legion casting is stronger.

I wish Routh had been cast as their superman. There have been multiple cases of the same actor playing two different versions of the same DC comics character in seperate unrelated productions. Even an alternate earth version of his character from Superman returns. There were ways to do it with the multiverse being introduced where you could have a version very similar to the SR version but that eliminated all the stuff people didn't like in SR. But unfortunately I think it's way too late now. Wether Ray Palmer is alive or dead it would just be bizzare to have as Routh Superman at this point. I don't think they could get past two seperate people (not just two versions of one person) being played by the same guy.
The only way Routh playing Superman on the show could have worked with him still playing The Atom is if Supergirl wasn't connected to the Arrowverse at all. I mean at all. Not just a different continuity but no multiversal connections at all the way Gotham is seperate and off to the side on its own.
Team Berlanti just shot themselves in the foot by not thinking ahead on this one. They should have held off on casting Routh for anything until they got cleared to use Superman in a guest spot. I know that at the time 2 or 3 or 4 years ago they couldn't predict when that would happen but they could have planned ahead a little better.

If they merge universes (like the original Crisis series in the comics did), then I could see them use Routh as Superman instead. But, who knows how Routh himself would feel about it? I'm suprised that he even stuck with DC/WB after the way they treated him at the end of SR.....

I think even if they merged the Supergirl universe and the Arrow universe it wouldn't work. You'd have two guys running around that looked like Brandon Routh. It's doable in minor supporting roles (Alfre Woodard is playing two seperate characters in the MCU) but Atom and Superman are staring roles. I assume you mean before they cast Hoechlin btw. The only way they could have used Routh without it being bizzare is if the unverses were totally totally seperate. That's been done before in these types of situations. But when Gustins Flash crossed over into Supergirls world they killed any chance of that.
Yeah they COULD do it...I'm not saying that...but it would be absurd. I think they'd have had a better chance getting away with using Welling but either Welling didn't want to or they didn't want to. Maybe they didn't want to confuse people into thinking Supergirl was a continuation of Smallville even if Welling was playing a different Supes from a different universe.

Batman Rebirth trailer.
Suprisingly good Batman centric adaptation of the DC Rebirth story. Part of me wonders of Johns and Snyder would actually go here with the movie universe one day. If anyone's noticed most of the Watchmen actors have had roles in the DCEU too.

If anyone's noticed most of the Watchmen actors have had roles in the DCEU too. With the movies so spread apart in time, (and fans not necessarily catching all of the incarnations), I'm skeptical on how well this would work or play to a general audience. With X-men: Day of Future Past, I felt it worked because it's all one version (or was more/less intended that way, according to Singer, outiside of X3)- with the same actors. It's fun to see fans splice these together, but it's hard enough for me to believe Batfleck as is. Having him next to BatBale, he's even more unbelievable imo. Anyhow- not impossible for a 'crisis' movie to happen, but just hard for ME to believe in it working.... (at least from this trailer)

It really depends on how it was handled and built to. It wouldn't be easy. It would take years and a slow progression of films opening up the world and introducing new ideas to acclimate the audience to the very idea of something like that. Then they'd have to do he actual work on the films to make them good and get to that point. It's possible but not very likely and very difficult.
But then again 20 years ago MOST people would have said ideas like Civil War and the Infinity Saga would be absolutely impossible and would never work as films. Just the logistics of it and juggling that many characters. The very idea of a team of heroes fighting another team of heroes would have been too far out there for most people to take seriously.
Now we are at a point where it not only worked but where we know something like X-men vs Avengers would at least be doable if difficult. Depending on what Infinity War is and how far it goes some version of Crisis could look very possible. I'd put good money down betting that the MCU will see some serious and surprising things going on after Infinity War.
