Not bad! Wish it were longer, though.

Junkball Medias history of the live action Supersuits.
Chris is missing a few details (and costumes) and got some details wrong but this is still a pretty good video. Hopefully he has done or will do one on the history of live action Batman costumes.
I think for best classic Superman suit I’ll go with Reeve’s. It's the classic design with some minor artistic license and flair. Gerard Christopher's is probably a close second. In both cases they didn't fix what wasn't broken and let the men "make" the suits by looking so good in them.
For best modern suit with modern design and construction thats a harder choice for me. All of them have something that could use some work on something I don't like. Guess I’ll go with Routh’s Kingdom Come inspired suit. The boots are one of its bigger failings but behind that it does classic with modern techniques well.
The Fleischer inspired suit from Superman & Lois isn't far behind. The problems with the Superman Returns suit have been well covered. All Cavill's costumes are over designed. Hoechlin's S&L season 3 Superman suit went overboard with the airbrushing. They all overdo it with the muscle suits with the exception of Hoechlin’s costume for the Supergirl series. That one has other issues.

Junkball Medias history of the live action Supersuits. Entertaining... though they messed up with the video clip of Leslie Ann Warren's audition- though admittedly that actress looks a LOT like Warren. Speaking of which, I still remember in the 'making of' book that Warren was favored for Lois. Would have been an interesting alternative....

Yeah. I also noticed he had a clip of Holly Palance where he said it was Warren. He apparently figured it out too but by then it was posted. I like the guys videos and can't wait to see part two. I assume for part 3 he will cover the variations of Cains suits, the Routh suit, and Cavill's two DCEU suits.
Maybe he will discuss some of the more minor or obscure ones like the Cain suit cameo in that car commercial or the Routh suit appearing in Smallville and the Japanese commercial starring Matt Bomer. There are also the unused costumes like the Cage/Lives suits and the Flyby suit Routh and Cavill screen tested in. What am I missing?

If there's a heaven I hope West saw it and raced to the batmobile one last time.

This picture actually is a pleasant reminder of: (1) how tragic a role could be for an actor (Reeves) and (2) that - thankfully, things (at least on the surface) seemed to have turned out pretty well by comparison for Adam West with his celebrity- he was appreciated, he was valued, and recognized by the time of his death, unlike poor George. But, hopefully the afterlife both are resting in peace...

If I could have asked Adam West one question that would have been it. How did he survive that period after Batman and come out the other side in a good place? What kept him going? West even talked about George Reeves and how he considered what happened to him when he took the role of Batman. He had his own dark days that he's was open about. The two men went through some similar circumstances. No one would hire them. They were typed. West had to do personal appearances to make ends meet and the only steady work that was there was more Batman. Ya gotta wonder how he beat his demons. Was it the fact that he had young children and a family depending on him? Reeves didn't have kids. Different when it's not only about you. Was West less hungry for fame and the ideal Hollywood career that Reeves wanted? Interesting to note Reeves buddy Gig Young was also disappointed with how his career turned out and killed himself too. Sometimes actors get too wrapped up in all that.

I recall West married the daughter of the owner of Boeing Airlines. That might have made him less desperate financially- depending on how that arrangement was. It's a tricky thing to ask in an interview- if the mrs. has WAY more money than you....

Is that he isn't wife Marcelle? I know he credits her with turning his life and career around after they got married in the 70s.

Hopefully they were fine if he did have to rely on her family's money (who knows?) during the lean years. He does seem a nice guy at the core, hopefully he had a good life despite the typecasting...

By the mid 70s West was getting pretty regular work. By the 90s nostalgia for the series began and his personal popularity cemented back around. It may not have always been the highest profile work or what he wanted but I remember seeing him guest star in plenty of stuff in the 90s. Post 2000 is really when West the icon had been cemented and he became a pop culture personality in and of himself.
I think if Reeves had hung on nostalgia for the series alone would have eventually gotten him some kind of steady gig or guest work. Nostalgia for the 50s began to hit big in the 70s as the kids of that's decade were grown and in the industry themselves. By then he would have been given some work based just on who he was.
