Ricky was quite weak and frail, and had a retarded hairstyle. Maybe Superman was his father too, just like Jasons?

Ricky didn't have a father. He also has a high midi-chlorian count.

well when Ricky hit his head the dog was tryin' 2 save him... a paternal instinct perhaps? plus Lana chastised Clark for eating Buster's food cause Buster is the man of the house?? Buster got the best food too, better than people food, cause Lana likes to cook for her man!

when r they gonna release the deleted scenes for SR? the only way will be if singer comes back to do a superman man of steel movie and a WB - double-dip sanctions a recut of superman returns. but as for the return to krypton sequence, IF singer comes back to do another then it will likely be modified to be used in S:MOS as a prequel to SR setting up brainiac , or adjusted to be superman in " NEW KRYPTON " - again , to set up brainiac. if singer does not return it wont happen for 20-25 years when some other format is being peddled and the WB office of the uber-fascist media wing of the 6-term obama administration's national media beuracracy decides to pass a stimulus bill to rescue the film industry for the 5th or 6th time in that particular fiscal year. the value of the global-UN unit will have been so deflated that the US govenrment will issue " coupons " to defray the cost of citizens getting all media updates downloaded into our frontal lobe microchip . THEN we might see it.

do u guys think that Brad was his father? If he wasn't then maybe Buster?
Ricky did look like a little mutt with that shag hair and that snivieling lil' snout of his.
When he knocks over that wooden bowl full of cheese or taffy or whatever Clark's like "oh the dog made a mess!! Don't worry I'll get it!"
So really, was Brad the father or was it Buster?

That sux. What WAS the official explanation as to the severe cuts made to SR? I mean, the film was edited down almost as much as SIV!!! What was the reason? Trying to salvage something at the last minute or was it done for artistic reasons?

Trying to salvage something at the last minute or was it done for artistic reasons? well , it was running long, it took considerable screen time to get superman ( AS superman ) to show up and save the plane. unfortuneatley i am not thrilled with the editing- several scenes are clunky... awkward - after stuart baird its a slippery slope plus- there was so much that was derivative of STM - including a comic book opening , that they just wanted to slim it down. i actually believe singer did an amazing job, but the script was only ok and i think it occured to singer that the idea of superman in the ship might be better used in another context. btw- did you ever see ADM's cut of SR? it is genuinely superior to the theatrical cut. the only disagreement i have with ADM is the omition of the smallville flashback.

Tell me more about ADM's cut! "Stalkerman" is removed. So we see the Richard/Lois scene without the context of Superman watching. All the usable deleted scenes are inserted. The ones with visible bluescreen weren't used. The beginning is switched around. Instead of starting with Lex and the old woman, it starts with Clark crashing to Earth. Brando is cut and young Clark is cut. "Lex's Paradise" scene is moved to after the credits. That way, it doesn't break up the drama at the end.

( i would have kept the smallville flashbacks anyway - guilty nerd pleasure . also i would have omited lex and th eold-lady ALTOGETHER - let the source of lex's wealth be a mystery . besides lois' line " did you swindle an old lady out of her fortyune ?" was enough to sum it up. also- the whole picture needs a stuart baird comb - trim a frame here , shorten dialog there .... )

As much as it pains me to say it, Noel's scene has to go. It's completely out of place in the movie. In a movie that can stand to lose a few minutes, that's the first one to get my axe.

that would get complaints about the the story making no sense or the writers being to lazy to get an answer.
Its a damned if you do damned if you don't situation.
What if the scene at Gertrude's was summed up and cut down into some sort of flashback or something? Like some quick flashes of her sayign he deserves everything and lex signing her will and thats it? Stick in into the appropriate scene...like the one where Lois asks him how he got there or when Jimmy explains how Luthor got released.
