Wow, looks like a kindergarten kid made that. It's like all plastic, and is the "S" REALLY supposed to be misshapen like that? totally not like anything I'd imagined. It really looks just cobbled up.
Oh, and the Brainiac that was designed, MAN that's creepy. It's like the spider concept turned one more. At least the head is pretty good in design to match the original version.

I thought the sketches of the alien/edward-scissorhands-esque suit would have at least been different enough. But this makes him look like a bad action figure. And the long hair?! YEESH.

I'd heard for years about how Cage did a costume test. I've always wondered if pictures would ever surface. His hair looks fake, but it's probably real. It looks like they did a quickie black dye job. This was taken just before Con Air went into production, IIRC, and he did have long hair at the time. BTW, that image is now permanently burned into my retinas. I'm considering euthanasia; it may be the only solution.  |

Unlike Steve Younis, I'm not entirely convinced it's real.
There's that weird skin-colored piece of rubber that comes up to the neckline that makes it look like it's an action figure with Nic Cage's head photoshopped onto it. Also, where the hair hits the collarbone looks awful photoshoppy as well. We'll see, I guess.

It could be a fake, but that picture looks legit to me. I know Cage was involved with Superman Lives at about the same time he shot Con Air (hence the long hair), the rubber suit looks 100% Tim Burton, the picture looks like it was taken with a crappy 1997 digital camera, and I don't think I've ever seen a photo of Nic Cage that could have possibly been manip'd into becoming the supposed "costume test" pic.

Actually, in the late 90s when this film was being produced, Supes had long hair, which is why I think this is probably legit. Also, the costume looks very similar to the Eradicator costume from that time period.

I think it looks kinda real. I mean, the S is right, the build is right, the face, I dunno where that kind of face could be to be photoshopped from, and the hair. Definitely when Con Air was happening, which is when the SL stuff was happening.
God, I thought the suit would be a little more...uhh...complete? Maybe? It looks like an awful ten dollar Halloween costume. Could that actually be what they were gonna use? And that blocked area with the fake skin was due to his massively hairy chest and hadn't been shaved down?
