UK version, as expected. If you want it for cheap, just buy it directly from Amazon UK instead of dealing with the asshole middlemen. 24.99 GBP.

Slipcase is different. None of the discs are labeled with the titles, and what is on the disc is in spanish. Plus huge European age ratings all over the place.

Just thought I'd check amazon to see the status of this set (it being cyber Monday and all), and while they STILL haven't fixed the problem with the spanish disc set yet, there is a big box on the page with an giant exclamation point, and it reads;
"Item Under Review
While this item is available from other marketplace sellers on this page, it is not currently offered by Amazon.com because customers have told us there may be something wrong with our inventory of the item, the way we are shipping it, or the way it's described here. (Thanks for the tip!)
We're working to fix the problem as quickly as possible."
So they're working on it.

The same thing happened in September or so. It was under review and supposedly pulled. That's why I felt safe ordering it in October. Haha, didn't end well. ;D
There are just way too many European copies in Amazon's supply chain.

Yep, I'm due for Lawrence of Arabia. Watch that yearly -- it gets better every time I see it. I still think it's the best film ever made.

I hear UK is getting a Blu of Lawrence of Arabia before us. Sigh. Good to know it's on the way though.

Sorry to bump this thread back up from the dead, but something about the blu-ray set has been bugging me for a long time (which I touched upon in the MOTU thread in the Diner a couple of weeks back). Am I the only one who thinks the colours on the Theatrical versions of S1-4 don't seem right on the blu-rays? I mean, Superman's suit looks teal rather than blue most of the time, sometimes even bordering on greenish. It's particularly noticeable in Superman III & IV, as evidenced in the following DVD/Blu-ray split-screen comparison videos (watch 'em at 1080p): www.youtube.com/watch?v=jr52-J6ZbUMwww.youtube.com/watch?v=qn0oD6c_yMc

It's hard to say really what looks "right" or "wrong", since we're relying on DVDs that were struck from masters from the 1990s as a basis of comparison.
I do notice the blown out contrast at times (such as the credits), but overall I like the color palette of the four movies.

Yes, that's true, but the DVDs are really the only basis of comparison we have for now. I've never seen the blues look teal on VHS releases and pre-2011 TV showings, which further suggests to me the colours on the blu-ray don't look right.

Bowers was just talking about this on his Caped Wonder group.. I think there might be a little problem with the colors on Blu Ray, other people have thought the blues looked a little more teal.

Pretty much ALL blues these days lean towards teal. That's just how the industry is these days. Pretty bizarre.
It really stands out in old movies that get remastered. James Cameron is a fan of it (Aliens, Terminator 1). Star Trek II got it. The French Connection remaster got it. Superman got it.

Wow. Thanks for putting this up. Even viewing the youtube vids on low-res, it's clear how noteable the change to the costume colors are. I thought something was awry....

Wow. Thanks for putting this up. To be clear, I'm not the one who created and uploaded the split-screen comparison videos. It's not just the costume that has had changes to the colours. Pretty much every colour throughout the films has been changed to some degree. Take a look at Earth in the opening credits portion of the S4 comparison, for example. It's a nice light blue on the DVD, but a dull tealy/green on the blu-ray. Also, the yellow text in the credits is now orange-y on the blu-ray.

Am I the only one who thinks the colours on the Theatrical versions of S1-4 don't seem right on the blu-rays? I'm now firmly in the camp that the blurays are all fucked to some degree. I'll be doing recoloured editions of them all at some point. As well as recolouring all the footage used in my fanedit. Edit: Not including the Donner Cut.

I usually don't get all bent out of shape over this stuff, but that's definitely teal.

I'm now firmly in the camp that the blurays are all fucked to some degree. It's not only the Superman Anthology that has fucked colours. I've been going through a ton of screenshots from some WB blu-rays dating back the last few years, and screwed-up colours abound on pretty much all of them. Take a look at these DVD & BD comparison pics from "Eraser", for example: caps-a-holic.com/hd_vergleiche/index.php?vergleich=eraserScrewed-up colours are most evident in Caps 1, 7, & 10. Really wish WB (and other studios) would jump off the colour re-timing/teal-and-orange bandwagon. What they're doing is utterly disgraceful.
