Were Haiduk and Newton getting it on during Season 1? There's a few times where there are some legitimate sparks between those two!

So I watched the final episode of Season 1 yesterday, Luthor Unleashed. This is the "Luthor loses his hair" episode. Not great, unfortunately. But now, it's on to the "best of Season 2".
But, before I move on, I can officially say that I've changed my opinion of Season 1. There's some great stuff here. And Newton is much better than I remember. I think he could have even done a good job as a big screen Superman if any of the Salkind Superman V/Superman: The New Movie takes ever would have happened.
I'll definitely revisit Season 1 soon and catch the episodes I didn't watch this time around.

It's best to watch the full season, then you appreciate the good ones more.
I think he is great at Superman and the wire work is impressive too.
The guy in S2 is good, his Clark is over the top...really over does the 'geek' disguise bit. You'll see what I mean...

I'll post my thoughts and state what episode and season I am upto.
Season 2 Episode 17
Brimstone. Pretty rubbish nothing worth watching. A nice bit of wire work though as Superboy carries and lands a motorbike with two people on it.
Ep 18 Abandon Earth,
Good episode, Jor-El and Lara (!!!) come to earth in this two parter. Interesting one, liked the idea of both sets of parents sharing screen time. I liked this and I look forward to the next part.

Maverick, The convention you speak of (the eBay T-shirt) was the 1994 Superman Celebration in Metropolis, Illinois. It was the one and only time that John Haymes Newton, Kirk Alyn, Tommy Bond and Phyllis Coates appeared together. All were lovely people. John was very humbled by being in the presence of the other Superman actors, and spoke highly of the Superboy series experience and the dangers of wire work. One day I will post my video of the four of them at their Q&A session. Jim Bowers www.capedwonder.com

S2 Ep 19 Escape To Earth,
It's a bit poor, the first part was better. But,the sub plot here with Lana and Clark/Superboy is good, would have liked a bit more of that.
20 Superstar.
Bit of a lame one, nothing really interesting. That said, there was an impressive save towards the end. Oh, and a 'swell' reference too.
21 Nick Knack.
Shit! less said the better. Although, there is a nice flying shot. Other wise don't bother.
22 The Haunting of Andy McAllister
Absolute rubbish.
You watched any more yet,Val?
Now Smallville is over and done with,I have decided to crack on with Superboy...
23 Revenge From The Deep, pretty forgettable
24 Secrets of Superboy -another Toy Man episode,he's sooo annoying, awful.

I definitely think Season One is much better (as bad as that is too)
My friend said to me last week after being let down by the Smallville finale. He said that Superman doesn't work on TV.
I think he does,Superboy is a great idea, although flawed, done cheap and badly. Good ideas, executed poorly. There are some great change scenarios, wire work and good use of powers.
I love the fact that unlike Smallville...no-one knows his secret, only him,The Kents and us,which is how it should always be. Makes it more exciting. What's the point of having a secret identity if every bugger knows it,ehy Smallville???

ok, it's been a loooooonnnngg time.
but i'm dipping my toe in the pool onthis and lois and clark. ( i will getto that inits own thread)
so i'm watching an ep right now. damn. this show is so cornball. now, before i get berated, let me say- i have met gerard christopher and i like him. also- i know the show has heart, and a budget that was never adequate. so i will be as fair as possible.
first- good god damn, the actor playing pa kent looks like richrd donner!
second- stacey haiduk is the hottest femme in superman media ever. ever.
i'm watching the one where lazenby plays jor-el.

Season two is pretty much bobbins. I can almost forgive Smallville's poor episodes after watching this.
Started S3 last night, soooo much better,Luthor and Bizarro in the same two parter season opening.
Ep 2 second part was really cool. The flying shots were very good, impressive during the fight with Bizarro and Superboy.
Totally different setting in this season, out of college dorms etc...
Ep3 The Lair, nothing much. Some toxic water,a disfigured man, people try to kill it, coperate big shot is responsible...
good wire work,ok.
#4 Neila, some alien broad comes to earth ala Species and Terminator looking for Superboy. She needs to pro create. Lot's of throwing cars, setting things on fire, throwing sewerage lids at Supes... was ok!

I'm 18 episodes into season three now and by far it's been the best,my advice...watch season one, leave two out full stop and then watch three.
Great ideas, wire work, performances are better...really enjoying this season. Sure there are a few naff episodes, but on the whole pretty darn good folks. Shame it's not available on DVD/Blu-ray/Holo disc or what have ya'.

I've seen very little of Seasons Three and Four. By then they had started changing the time slots around, etc, so it was hard for me to track down. Most of my experience was with the first two. I DO remember enjoying Season Two a bit, but if this is that much better....

This show has a lot going for it,the wire work is excellent...some flying shots OMG are brilliant...flying up a stair well, flying through a hotel hall way. They really exploit this,ok...lets make him fly...
Better than flying shots in SR. All real and all before CGWhy too.

Well, took me ages to get through them a few episodes a week or so but I've finished all seasons. 1 was good,2 was pretty bad,3 was easily the best and 4 was good.
I still would like these in a nice box set though or part of a future blu ray release.
Better than Smallville and Lois and Clark.
On the whole, an enjoyable series...

Your favorite overall episodes?
By far, the fewest episodes I've seen were from Seasons 3 and 4. I watched pretty much all of 1 and 2 when they aired, and then they changed the time slot and I usually had track meets or baseball games when it aired, so I saw very little of the last two seasons.
