* The final 'prisonyard' shot, where it's clearly Reeve, as he's hoisted from the ground, over the prison wall.... with no air mattresses or anything below him, in case of any mishap. Wasn't it actually Vic Armstrong doubling Reeve in that shot? No, you can see it's Reeve. These shots are taken from the bluray. One of my favourite shots is the take off from the Daily Planet roof, it looks fucking awesome. The cheeky wave to Lois is great, and it also leads into another of my favourite shots, with Supes flying toward the camera, Reeve's flying looks so natural and the shot really shows off the Zoptic effects.

No, you can see it's Reeve. These shots are taken from the bluray. I stand corrected then, LOL. Ditto. It's my favourite take-off from the film.

Ditto. It's my favourite take-off from the film. Agreed. It looks incredibly authentic, as if Reeve really did just go up, up, and away.

Good read. I remember A Hercules episode seemed like a partial ripoff of the Superboy episodes Roads Not Taken. Even Superman TAS did a similar episode called Brave New Metropolis. Swamp Thing the series was filmed at Universal Studios too. I think it worked out better for that show. It also had a rough first season then had some changes. Its too bad different production companies and networks (or syndication in Superboys case) prevented a crossover. As far as shooting it would ahve been EASY to get Swamp Thing on Superboy or Superboy on Swamp Thing and Swampy was exactly the kind of thing Clark and Lana would be investigating.

I always like that take off and the shot of Supes flying toward the camera.. my only problem with it.. seems like he moves his arms to much for me while he's flying in that shot, but that's just me lol The prisonyard take off is a great one too. Man, I hope the new Superman movie has some good take offs and wire work in it. I really hope everything isn't CGI.

From some of the images in the teaser, I get this feeling that the camerawork will look a lot like steadicam to try to increase the feeling of 'realism' in it (something that I got quickly tired of on "Battlestar Galactica"), so if that's the case, I'm not sure we're going have a lot of 'beauty' shots that isn't somewhat shaky, so it might not even matter... but, it's just speculation here. Will see....

Season 2 is finally coming! www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Superboy-Season-2/17834With its successful first season having secured its status as a breakout syndicated hit, the Salkinds initiated some sweeping changes for the show's sophomore season. The biggest of the changes was the arrival of a whole new Superboy in the person of Gerard Christopher. Bringing with him a fan's enthusiasm and delight for all things Kryptonian and aided by a writing staff that included true DC Comics superstar scribes (including Andy Helfer, Cary Bates, Denny O'Neil, and Mike Carlin), Christopher sent the show soaring up into ever-more super-heroic heights. Familiar four-color threats faced by our boy Kal-El include a now follicle challenged Lex Luthor (who makes Lana his bride decades before they did it in Smallville), Metallo, Bizarro, Mr. Mxyzptlk and Yellow Peri in this complete 26-Episode, 3-Disc Collection. Also starring Stacy Haiduk and Ilan Mitcheck-Smith. After waiting six-and-a-half years following the Complete 1st Season DVDs released the traditional in-store way, Warner is finally moving beyond the John Haymes Newton episodes and into the first of three seasons starring Gerard Christopher as the Boy Of Steel. Fans will be excited to know that next week, December 11th the Warner Archive Collection is putting out an MOD (manufacture on demand) 3-DVD set of Superboy - The Complete 2nd Season. Priced at $29.95 SRP, this title will only be available at the studio's WBshop.com online store (see button link below) for the first few weeks. As such, it will only ship to customers with addresses in the U.S.A.; don't worry though if you don't live state-side! This item is also expected to sell shortly after through Amazon's CreateSpace MOD program, which ships globally. While you're watching these episodes, keep an eye out for guest stars like Richard Kiel (The Spy Who Loved Me, Moonraker), George Maharis (Route 66), Philip Michael Thomas (Miami Vice), Ami Dolenz (Ferris Bueler), and also George Lazenby (On Her Majesty's Secret Service) and Britt Ekland (The Man With the Golden Gun) as "Jor-El" and "Lara." Finally! That's awesome news.... even moreso if this 'new' model of releasing items ends up getting WB to do more releases by being more profitable this way.
My only quibble is: 3 discs for the second season? I wonder how much the quality will suffer and/or if it's remastered at all.... but, still, great news nontheless!

Awesome news!
Though the set being three discs is cause for concern regarding compression quality.

FINALLY! Season 2 isn't much better than Season 1, but...this has to do well so we get Seasons 3 and 4, which are really, really good.

Season 2 is pretty bad from what I remember when I watched the full series a while back. But, good news though. I'd definitely like the lot on DVD.
