You get off on this stuff, Metallo. You really do. And you do generalize. Anyone who doesn't agree with you is generalized. But hey, this is entertaining so lead the way. Get off on what? I'd rather have a good film. You seem to get off on the nose up in the air act. Maybe something suddenly rubbed you the wrong way? We talk about this stuff for years and when you get tired of MOS complaints you decide to go off about it? What's that all about? That's not me generalizing anything. Just seems pretty funny. You seem to be generalizing about me. Pot meet kettle.

I can't believe this movie drew its inspiration from Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Don't believe me? Watch and compare. Eccentric, what do you think? 3 parts Transformers 3, 2 parts Star Trek '09, mix in a blender, serve over fanboys with a side of bait-and-switch.

I'm amazed you can type with one hand working Nolan's cock You're a fantasist. Still under the impression I won't take any criticism of a film I myself have criticized. The likes of Russ and Jimbo didn't care for it, but I had no problem with that, or with anyone I know outside of the net who didn't like, but if creating that little myth in your warped mind makes it easier for you to keep coming back then so be it. What a fucking bore, eccentric is right, you obviously got a hard-on for this stuff, it's the only reason you'd start it up and peddle the same shite again and again. But each to their own, have fun

I noticed it too. Goyer and Snyder probably sat down taking notes. Story points and style from Trek 09 and Transformers are all over this flick. Zod kills Jor El. What a new idea! Except when Nero killed Kirks dad. I could see if it was one thing but the similarities creep up over and over again.
Zods monster ship even has a planet destroying super weapon.
Codex = Allspark. Each can give new life to their respective races.

But each to their own, have fun I think you have Nolan cock on the brain dude. You sure do seem to mention him a lot. WB put his name on the movie not me. My problems with the flick come from Goyer and Snyder the main guys behind it. And you still seem to get butthurt when you hear what you don't like. Tough tit. Ignore it. Oh right because you can't. How do I get off on this stuff when you're the one gettin so wound up a out what other people say? Do you see me complaining about people who gushed over MOS? Nope. You probably haven't said anything to Ye5man or Jimbo because they haven't even said as much about MOS in a while. I'm talking about it right now. Am I FORCING you to argue over this flick with me now? Of course not. You're doing it because you want to for some reason. You could not give a shit what I say if it REALLY doesn't bother you. I don't care if you go on or not but you seem to want to. If I got off on it I wouldn't be talking about the film and other stuff even when you aren't posting. Enrique and I were talking about MOS the other day with no drama.. What was I getting off on then if I wasn't arguing about it?

After three pages if your guys' bullshit, all I've gleaned is that I should re-watch Transformers. Fuck that.

Yeah, it has a similar plot by reviving the home planet aspect. What was missing was Krypton heaven.

Wow, I have to laugh at some of the claims made in this featurette:
1:34 - "They pitched their ideas, and we were like 'wow, they've figured it out!'"
1:49 - "What Chris and David did was let's let the audience participate in the experience of being Superman without breaking the things that make him Superman. They were able to make him relatable."
2:09 - "He just has a really strong idea about the story, and he has a really strong idea about character."
3:23 - "The most minute little detail all the way to the biggest broadest concept, all of it gets the same attention. That really makes the movie deeper and more interesting on every level."
7:25 - "You're going to require that much strength morally when you have that much strength physically."
8:50 - "Superman is from another planet. He calls into question so much of what we take for granted, whether it be philosophical or physics. He has come to Earth to remind us of ourselves."
11:44 - "There's a humanity that goes through every character in this piece."
11:55 - "The actors are amazing. The director's amazing."
12:15 - "People are going to feel part of the movie."

A statement which doesn't make any sense logically. Get off on what?

Sounding like they actually cracked some new ideas that have actually been around for years. Some of those ideas they had aren't as novel as they make them out to be. Even Smallvlle did a lot of the same stuff MOS did. So did STAS and JL/JLU. The moral strength vs physical strength thing is silly. At this point that should be common sense. Superman's always been about that. They didn't invent the wheel here.

I liked this quote the best...
Chris Nolan " When I was godfathering this project, you know before I washed my hands of it, but after cashing the check, I decided Snyder was the perfect director for the job because he said he wanted to shoot the film like a documentary."
Zack Snyder " Thanks, yeah but that's only half true. I said I wanted to shoot most of the film like a documentary, and the action scenes like a video game. A real contrast of styles."
Chris Nolan "Brilliant "
Zack Snyder " well you were THERE Chris, you SAW the pitch."

" I've been trying to get this movie made for 10 years, but we didn't crack it until they showed me this take. I thought wow... That's the way to do, why hasn't someone thought of this?" Obviously he was referring to making a quasi-remake/vague sequel to STM.

It's the usual Hollywood talk about unlocking some kind of revelation to convince people they actually did something special when they really didn't. Convince people you've got this new idea when its really an old one dressed up new.

To put it simply, you get off on opposition from different opinions from yours.

Right. Which is why I apparently "got off" on the difference of opinion CAM and I had a few days ago or the one ATP and I had talking about Superman movie flying effects. Oh wait...we had nice respectful discussions about that that were a lot of fun. I don't remember any drama when some of us had a difference of opinion in ATPs SR vs MOS thread even though we all said different things. Guess the "getting off thing" didn't happen.
Guess I was getting off on the difference of opinion in the thread with Shane a few days ago even though I told him I liked him and didn't argue with him or anything even though we had totally different opinions on something. Totally different.
I think you're way off on this one. Just "calling it like I see it". Ever think it might be the approach to expressing those opinions? Apparently not.

Apologies if this information has already been shared. I'm just glad to know that someone on the production wasn't totally on board with having Superman kill Zod.

"I don't change my style for anybody. Pussies do that"
- Michael BayIt seemed like MOS was a diversion from Snyder's typical style. Just sayin'.
