I applaud you for recognizing that. Too many blokes just go along for the ride and then bail out because they didn't own up to the consequences.

Same thing with women, too. Women leaving families is on the rise in a very strange way. Just read an article about it a few weeks ago.

Only a retard would subject himself to having children.
Oh wait...

I can't do it either. The wife doesn't want kids so I'm good. I think we're just too selfish. There's too much we want to do, and we see how people with kids live: they don't. Everything revolves around the kids. We don't want the responsibility either.

Nothing wrong with not having kids whatsoever. It's not selfish at all. More people should allow themselves to think like that, unlike the standard, "Well, we were supposed to get married, and we did, so now we're supposed to have kids, so we will."

No matter how much politically-correct cunts try to dress it up, the fact is that your life is over when you become a parent. Harsh but it is the truth.

Agreed 100%. My buddy just found out he's having a fourth child and was very honest about not being happy. It was nice to see that, refreshing. Shitty, of course, but eh...and I don't think anything preventative can be done, as he and his wife are hardcore Jews.
And I'm so tired of people acting like being good parents is an obtuse, unexpected gift to the child, like it's not what they should be doing. Like they deserve something for not being awful parents. Pathetic.

I really wish more people had this attitude. It fucks me off when people ask if I am ever going to have any. Saying that, I am surprised at the amount of birds from my high school (thanks Facebook) who don't have any.
My woman's parents confessed, although they love the 2 daughters to bits, they regretted having kids for years cos its stopped them doing what they wanted.
I'm not saying "never" but now right now. The missus would like one but knows we can't really afford to raise on as she'd have to leave her job.
I think a lot of people romanticise about having mini versions of themselves and do nice things together. But kids have a mind of their own and I imagine reality to be different.

My wife and I have been married 10 years. It took at least five for people to stop asking about kids and get a fucking clue.

Oh, that's for DAMN sure. Also it's so hip and cool to have a kid and be their best friend instead of a parent.

the silver lining we have is that we started YOUNG. marie was 16 when we met, and 19 when we had our first. (as sammy van halen would say: "none of this is planned... it all just kinda happened, i got more than i bargained for, but how is just a mystery")
so, by the time our youngest is 18 ill be a spry 50. still lead in the pencil. ill be a fairly young grandpa - maybe in a couple years (im 39 n0w)

anyhoo- back on topic:

Definitely part of the family for me, too. I love it. It gives me that, "Fuck yeah!" feeling at the end when the title card comes up. But wait. Give it six months, we will all fall in line with the rest, remember. We won't always love it. The dust will settle and the euphoria will go away.

SOME have trolled it mercilessly, then 6 weeks before release did a 180 and were all gangbusters just in case, and now thats its safe again to hate on it are all "i told you so". hahahaha

I would have thought that if it actually sucked and this was temporary euphoria that would have become more obvious with each viewing, but it doesn't...........

I saw SR once. I enjoyed it on first viewing because I did have a bit of a buzz seeing a Superman film on the big screen, but it quickly became apparent that it wasn't worth a second viewing after I thought about it.

Just got back from only my second viewing. Imax 3D. I'll probably have to wait until it goes to our bargain theater, unless my bitches start working their corners a little harder. Dicks ain't gonna suck themselves.

Went last night for my first viewing. I wont get another chance to see it at the cinema, so next viewing will be on BR or DVD.
