I'm all for it.
And, I'm pretty sure Snyder will give us the best Batman costume we've ever seen.
I don't doubt he will go more comic booky and finally veer away from the black rubber.

As far as visuals go.... I think Snyder is capable of some AMAZING things.
As far as shaping/coaxing a performance that looks good onscreen---- Snyder doesn't seem anywhere as good as any of the tv directors for Smallville*.
I think I've thrown out before that Snyder's strongest stuff has been when it was a voiceover (much of 300, and parts of Watchmen) or a visual montage. He'd be a fantastic SILENT director.
(*I think that's one thing that Speilberg and Donner had over so many directors- they had years of television first, where it was more about the performances over the visuals.)

Lois: What's the bat stand for?
Batman: It's not a bat. In my city, it means fear.

1. My friends and I have been having a funny time texting using WB executive thinking for this casting. "Maybe MOS didn't make as much as we hoped because it didn't have a big star! The next movie needs to have a big star! That Ben Affleck just won Oscar, he's rich, and women like him! He even played Daredevil who is kind of like Batman! Yeah...yeah! He's friends with Kevin Smith who likes comics so comics fans like both of them too! Sign him! *snort*"
2. We've been having fun joking about the fan reaction. A petition to Obama? Lol. If he's pro Batfleck then the GOP will be anti Batfleck.
3. We've been joking about Affleck. Affleck was like "Ryan Reynolds thinks he's the new Ben Affleck? Ill show him. He thinks HE ruined a DC hero? Pfft...I'll show him how it's done."
4. Man...this certainly buried the Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon news didn't it? Geeks don't even care about that anymore.
5. Detroit might be the new Gotham. Sounds about right. Affleck goes from working with Bay to working with Snyder...again...sounds about right.
6. The big question is...what kind of rug will Affleck wear as Bruce Wayne?

Script was direction was OK - Rob Schneider wrecked that film single handed.

Wow! I'm without words! Hmmm....even if he's a A-list actor, I think it's an interesting casting. The only problem that I see is if Batman has more screentime. with Affleck as Batman, for this movie to be a superman movie forst, Superman absolutely needs more screentime than Batman. also, Affleck has some gym time ahead of himself if he wants to compete with Cavill's body!

This makes me wonder.... I was half-joking about the Superman series being 'Brave and the Bold' before, but.... Maybe this IS WB's strategy towards their version of the Avengers- To make each subsequent film 50/50 towards introducing other DC superhero franchises--- versus being real Superman sequels. In other words- if Superman/Batman's a hit, the next Superman film after that will be yet another Superman team up film--- no more Superman solo films. Plausible or does this sound too far-fetched?

Batman Producer Michael Uslan says... Remember when...
Michael Keaton was announced as Batman... Heath Ledger was announced as The Joker... Anne Hathaway was announced as Cat-Woman...?
What controversies! What great debates ensued!
And then remember when they made those roles theirs?
Fasten your seat belts! Once more, an amazing ride is about to begin! I say.... Remember when... Shaq was cast as Steel? Topher Grace was cast as Venom? Stallone was cast as Dredd? Oscar winner Hallie Berry as Catwoman? and... Ben Affleck was cast as Daredevil? Look, I'm being cheeky. Non of those reasons are a good reason to not sit back and see what Affleck does with the role. But I'm really sick of every time an odd choice comes out people always bring up they "LOOK AT WHAT KEATON DID" example. There are just as many (if not more) examples of odd casting not working out. Affleck is a solid actor and deserves his shot, but not because Keaton brought it back in 89, he deserves it because he's a proven professional. I liked Stallone as Dredd, but the script and direction didn't help him. I also liked Affleck as Daredevil. And like I said: Yeah, Ledger and Hathaway were good, but look who was directing them... Snyder isn't anywhere near as good directing actors as Nolan is. Yeah Stallone was actually a GOOD choice for Dredd if you look at what those comics were always making fun of. The script and certain ideas just ruined it Just like you said with Ledger and Keaton...Snyder is no Nolan. He's not even a Burton. And this time Goyer doesn't have the Nolans doing as much of a polish on his shit.

I read on Cosmic book news that a source said Ben Affleck has signed a multi-picture deal for play Batman/Bruce Wayne and that Luthor has been cast, but doesn't know who it's going to be whether it's Strong, Cranston or someone else. Hopefully this casting news will be released soon.

I could see Affleck doing a whispering Batman. That'd be kinda cool. A Batman that truly sticks to the shadows, is rarely seen. Doesn't make public appearances and give speeches.

ATP, so you like the casting? Matthew Fox would have been better.

Fingers crossed his portrayal is closer to Keaton's and less like Bale's embarrassing take. If he wants his Wayne to be like Bale's then by all means go for it, that was great.

By the way this Cranston as Luthor thing is really gathering pace. Unconfirmed reports coming out in the last few hours that he has indeed been cast as Luthor.

Having just watched the latest Breaking Bad episode, I can say that I believe he will be fucking brilliant. He will probable be even better than Hackman was.

MOS had a mediocre reception, now Affleck news is turning into a laughing stock.
They need good news to turn this bad press around and fast.
Announcing Cranston would be the way to do it.
