I've always enjoyed the Metropolis sequence best.
I understand and appreciate all those qualities from Krypton and Smallville, but as a kid, I always found those two sections of the film to be very bleak and heart wrenching with a lot of death and misery, and tragedy.
I didn't enjoy seeing millions of Kryptonians swirling in a horrible, screaming death before a massive fireball. I didn't enjoy seeing young Clark see his father die and poor Ma Kent screaming and hollering and then get left alone.
I found it so punishing to watch that I remember being 9 or 10 and saying to myself, "Enough." And fast forwarding to the Fortress.
When we finally get to Metropolis, I can remember this heavy weight on my chest suddenly be lifted away, and I could breathe a little easier.
So much more fun.
So yeah, while I can appreciate the timelessness, craft, and acting of Krypton and Smallville, I simply had more fun in Metropolis.
And let's not forget the most important part of Metropolis: Christopher Reeve.
With his reassuring smile and kind demeanor, he made me feel that everything was going to be ok.

Another fine mess you got me into. We believe he selects forum members...methodically builds their dependence on MoS...then sells them to an elite clientele on Facebook. Uh, yes. Cause of death was, uh, MOS overdose.

First on my list: What's your style? My style? You could call it the art of bullying without bullying. Another fine mess you got me into.

Thau's school rests partially within our territorial waters. If we were given the slightest reason he had some kind of arsenal of Donner footage we've never seen, we'd move in on him.
Besides, Thau would never allow Donner footage in the school. He had a bad experience with it once and he's fearful of Reeve Only People.
Can't really blame him. Any bloody fool can start a Facebook page.

Good to see you, Kam.
You guys are making me curious to watch TDC again, which I always enjoyed despite the incomplete feel.

Where did the other fallacy come from, namely that the Donner Cut was going to be so much better than the theatrical, and that the Salkinds were the bad guys? Now you know the truth. When you get to the city, pay your respects to Chris Reeve and Alexander Salkind.

I thought the rest of his bodily functions were normal. Putting it delicately... does he ... eat? Superman does like to eat...if he can find something to keep down.

There's a couple of other DC movies and a Zack Snyder Justice League movie in production. We'll be monitoring it, on the chance you can get to it.
Oh by the way, we placed a DVD on the island. Since then, we've, uh, lost it. If it's there, it might contain something. Name is "BvS". Sure you won't have a MOS copy?

Everyone says be open minded about Superman killing people, and those cute little changes, but how about giving Lois a big booty in the next Superman incarnation?
Is there some secret edict handed down from DC that says Lois basically has to be a live action Olive Oyl in the rump department?

Nothing at all.
See, movies like STM and SII, you want to slowly rewind and fast forward to study its virtues in all its VHS glory.
Whereas MOS, you want to be able to skip 15 to 20 minutes ahead instantly because there's nothing to study. Whereas in STM and SII, you don't need to instantly skip. In fact, delaying the viewing through rewinding intensifies the pleasure of pressing play.
But I would reserve the rewinding for Reeve's movies only.

I don't want to beat a dead horse, but now that you guys mention it...
Yeah.
It's like they're throwing gobs of money at special effects and explosions, but when it comes to the script, they're like, "Yeah, yeah, yeah, beautiful, uh-huh, perfect, yeah...anyway, getting back to explosions..."

I thought "stepping outside" was an old school way of challenging someone to a fight?
In fact, in Bruce Lee's "Way of the Dragon", a waiter in that film tells a thug, "You! You wanna step outside?"
Rocky was disrespecting Lois and, who knows, maybe Clark felt the need to "prove himself" now that he no longe had powers. There's a subplot for you, especially had Reeve been playing Superman in a TV series instead of a movie. (Hollywood, I want story credit for that one!)

I...
...actually kinda like that.
Or maybe a scene at the end with Ross Webster joining Zod, Lex, Otis, and Non. Maybe Otis and Non are playing checkers.

SIV has, as we all know, a lot of problems but this one is no big deal.
In the corporate world, lots of plans get sidelined when the new owners take over.
